Tart Lumber Company is Hiring an Outside Sales Representative Near Sterling, VA

Tart Lumber Company, Inc., a full-service lumber and building material company complete with a contractor’s hardware store, design showroom, and a custom mill shop, seeks a full-time Outside Sales Representative in Sterling, Virginia. If you have a background in construction and building materials, are experienced in sales, and motivated to learn new products and systems, we want to hear from you.

WHAT WE OFFER.

  • $75,000 – $95,000 expected first year wage; base wage plus uncapped commission in following years.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

  • Generate and close sales for contractor and builder clients.
  • Call on and meet with existing customers, high-end builders, and contractors during the sales process to collect customer product needs and design specifications, and act as liaison between purchasing, production, and final delivery.
  • Improve product mix penetration with existing customers and high-end residential builders.
  • Stay on-top of industry trends to further develop and increase your product and industry knowledge.
  • Read and comprehend construction plans to provide full material take offs for clients.
  • Work in partnership with team members to enhance the customer experience and deliver beyond expectations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with builders, architects, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Embrace company values, behaviors, and practices that form the heart of our customer-focused culture.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction or building material sales is required.
  • Must be a self-starter that is able to manage time wisely.
  • You are service oriented, customer focused, and enjoy building relationships.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, email, calendar) required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • You are dependable, ethical, and a good communicator.
